"I first heard this track around 1985/1986 on a bootleg club mix cassette tape from RONNYZ (a legendary 80's gay nightclub in Durban, South Africa) Over the years i have tracked down all of the songs from this mix tape, but this "Je Suis Passée" was one of the most difficult (typical French!) to identify and track down!
I've always loved this tune.... it should had been a bigger hit!
I love the French female vocal, but think giving the song the French language title "Je Suis Passée" made the track near impossible for non French speakers to ID/ask for/request and buy!.
Nevertheless, i have always loved this rare 80's electro classic!

Cool Song! Excellent Production! and took me 25 years to find it! "

Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger [UltraTraXX 12'' Mix Version 1982] 80's electro synth dance classic annie lennox

"Love Is a Stranger" is Eurythmics' fifth single, and like its predecessors, was initially a commercial flop, although it later became a worldwide hit when it re-entered the chart following their commercial breakthrough with "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)".

The song has a fairly sparse, up-tempo arrangement. It uses the rare Movement Systems Drum Computer and various synthesizers (providing bass, melody lines and sound effects), including the Suzuki Omnichord, combined with Lennox's strident multi-tracked vocal harmonies. The song is also punctuated with vocal grunts of "uh!" from Stewart.
Originally released in November 1982 in the United Kingdom, the song flopped peaking at #54.[1] Following the huge success of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" the following year, the song was re-released and reached #6 in April 1983.

In the United States, the song was the second single from the Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) album and it was released just as the title track reached number one. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #81 on September 17, 1983 and peaked at #23 on November 12 of that year. The song was in the charts for thirteen weeks.

The single release was accompanied by a striking music video directed by Mike Brady, in which Stewart acts as chauffeur for an androgynous Lennox, who plays the role of a high-class prostitute. During the course of the video, Lennox removes a curly blonde wig to reveal her trademark, close-cropped, red hair underneath, though in the music video her hair was slicked back rather than being a buzz cut in the follow up music video "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)". This caused minor controversy in the USA, as some people mistakenly thought Lennox was a male transvestite.

Rod Stewart - Da Ya Think I'm Sexy (Discotech Base Remix) 2013 Electro Disco Mix

"Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" is a song written by Rod Stewart, Carmine Appice and Duane Hitchings and performed by Stewart on his album Blondes Have More Fun.

The song was released as a single in late 1978 and spent one week at the top of the British charts in December 1978 and four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1979. It also topped the charts in Australia for two weeks.

Royalties from the song were donated to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Stewart performed the song at the Music for UNICEF Concert at the United Nations General Assembly in January 1979.

Background and writing:
Carmine Appice, who played drums on this song told Songfacts:
"This was a story of a guy meeting a chick in a club. At that time, that was a cool saying. If you listen to the lyrics, 'She sits alone, waiting for suggestions, he's so nervous...' it's the feelings of what was going on in a dance club. The guy sees a chick he digs, she's nervous and he's nervous and she's alone and doesn't know what's going on, then they end up at his place having sex, and then she's gone."
In a 2007 interview, co-writer Duane Hitchings noted that
"Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" was
"a spoof on guys from the 'cocaine lounge lizards' of the Saturday Night Fever days. We Rock and Roll guys thought we were dead meat when that movie and the Bee Gees came out. The Bee Gees were brilliant musicians and really nice people. No big egos. Rod, in his brilliance, decided to do a spoof on disco. VERY smart man. There is no such thing as a "dumb" super success in the music business."

"Great Tune!  Great NEW ELECTRO Remix!"
Scores 10/10!
